Thomas Moran
Thomas Moran (12. januar 1837 - ), engelsk-amerikansk kunster født i Bolton (Lancashire i England). Ligesom sin bror Edward Moran studerede han under Hamilton og fortsatte sin uddannelse i Europa. Her påvirkedes han især af Turner's kunst. To rejser til Yellowstonefloden gav anledning til nogle af hans betydeligste arbejder, af hvilke flere kom til Washington ("Canon of the Yellow Stone"). Andre værker: "Den sidste pil", "Efterår", "Isbjerg i det atlantiske hav", "Storm på Long Island" med flere. Thomas Moran, der ligesom Edward Moran var medlem af det amerikanske nationalakademi, har desuden leveret talrige illustrationer til bøger og tidsskrifter og raderet
mange gode landskabsblade.
